The header links on MG-Backup for active, completed, dropped, and oneshots manga now work. They redirect to alphabetical listing of titles. The same links in the right hand sidebar list titles by date added.
The Scanlators Directory has been up since the beginning for reference in case you didn't know. There's a link here on the right hand side. Newly added are the Extras, which were our music and graphics pages. They need to be cleaned up, but that probably won't happen yet.
For some reason, many links in 4shared have expired and I've been fixing them, which involves a lot of work: click on links to find which ones are broken --> find a download for the file --> download it --> reupload it --> add it.

1. To celebrate Halloween, I have opened MG-Backup to the public. It will host the backup of all our old downloads. The site is still not complete, but check it out! I did a lot of editing & coding to make it pretty and useful.

5. Blogger changed their xml format so at the moment there is no way for me to convert & import the rest of the posts. I'll manually add them, but that means old comments onwards will be lost. If a conversion fix is made, I'll reimport them again. For now, I think everyone just wants their downloads. ^_^ I was gone for a week due to exams.

Welcome and waiting
The colours are uncertain...Wait for them to settle.
Forum Info: The majority of the manga collection in the forum has been deleted (this is not something the group planned). This has left me rather sad and discouraged because the content is irrecoverable unlike the website. Please excuse my reluctance to help rebuild that section as I mourn the loss of my work, but even more, the work of all of our old members.
Background info: MG's server is once again dysfunctional! We're thinking of moving, but while we research our options and deal with all the work in real life, the website is unfortunately frozen. Don't worry; we still have all of our files that were on the website!

These people volunteer their time and effort to bring this wide variety of material. Please visit your favourites and thank them. Second Round
This should be renamed the technical difficulties post.
My last update was a bit of a failure with all those broken links that I didn't realize. There are some stupid quirks with computer programming that caused copy+paste problems. By the way, those links are fixed now if you do check back on the old updates (it's the 2nd post under this one).
Sigh, then mediafire was upgrading, so my account wouldn't show all of its files, and 4shared got hacked...

Back to School
For many, it's now the start of a new school year. sigh...I feel like it has snuck up on me.

Series Update - how foolish of me to think that there might be none
New Additions -Cleaning out the Closet It's been a while since I added anything new. My updates end up so ridiculously lengthy I push it off. This time I haven't chosen to introduce a random title that I like. I have this new project: a lot of the old downloads have been lost from Manga Garden's website from a long time ago; however, I decided to kick up the dust and see what functional links I could find. Here are some of them:

- I forgot to mention last time that I've also updated the length information on some of the series. For example, you'll be happy to know that both Dengenki Daisy and Oresama Teacher are at 5 volumes. Hotaru Hikari is at 15(!) volumes (a little distressing actually).
- Tags! Someone recently commented on how they liked a certain mangaka, so I hope everyone knows that we do have working tags. When you're on the page of a certain series, underneath the download links and stars, there is a bar with words such as "Posted in: Active" and "Tags: etc. etc." We tag series according to genres and authors/artists. For example, if you're on the page "Handsome Girlfriend" and you click the tag "YOSHIZUMI Wataru", it will list all the series we have that were created by YOSHIZUMI Wataru.

- Attention Recent Comments:
Recently, we got a comment that went like this: "Please release the next chapter." Response: I think the only release of Dawn of the Arcana at the moment is c1a. And I want to emphasize that we don't "release" chapters; we just rehost them from the scanlators. Now I dare you to go to the scanlators and repeat your request [don't do it].
We also got a comment that said: "i waNt more......pls upload more." Response: How about some gratitude [cough - thank-you?]. Also, the files we have for "Bishounen no Oheya" are up-to-date with the most recent release, too.
Anyways, thank-you for the feedback. If you don't want to leave even a little hello in the chatbox or in the comments, please rate the series you download (click on the stars on a project's page). - Some of the scanlators have changed their address in the last while, so I've gone through the projects' pages and corrected the links there. - If you haven't noticed yet, NCIS had a recent change of admin and also cough -breakup-. Lucky for us, they've settled down, so no more multiple addresses and locations. The part that kept its namesake can still be reached by the old address. The other part has joined up with Which Scanlations. Go check them out to see who now translates the particular project(s) you follow. And so, the grown Which Scanlations has also moved address.
- Changed Status
Masca and Usagi Drop have been moved to Dropped. They were dropped by their scanlators due to licensing. J-Sis has also dropped another series due to licensing, so visit and find out which one if you're worried.
Tabecha Dame has been moved to Completed. We somehow forgot or didn't realize that scanlation of the series was finished.

July Excitement
Wow, I was shocked when I learned that Michael Jackson had passed away. It was immediate breaking news and such a sad event. There's one more amazing talent lost. =(

Depending on the image reader you use, you may or may not have noticed some confusing scenes. Chapter 2 has also been modified for consistency, but it's not really necessary to redownload it. I've also added a download for Osuwari's chapter 1.

- You may have noticed a few days ago that instead of those ugly red x's, a "Oops, no Image yet" image now shows for all of the series that do not have a picture uploaded. By the way, there are over 60 (possibly 70+ by now) series without an icon. Sigh...I was going to upload only 1 of the temporary images, and link it to all the series without a pic, but that wasn't possible. This meant a lot of clicking to upload the same pic to each series, and more loading time for you. >_<
- The Scanlators Directory has been updated after nearly a month. Sorry about that. This has been the longest delay yet. Never procrastinate; it just increases the workload.

- Heart no Kuni no Alice -- Fantasy & Adventure. For those who like classic stories and even better, twists on them, this an altered form of Alice's encounters in Alice in Wonderland. The manga is actually adapted from a game (one of those otome types).
Alice falls asleep/ follows a rabbit down a hole where she discovers a new world and meets a variety of interesting characters. The people she meets sometimes are related to the people she knows in reality, and sometimes lessons are implied in their interactions. However, in this Wonderland (renamed Heartland), all of the characters so far are humanoid, and the premise of Alice's exploration is based on the premise of finishing a dangerous game. Alice has to explore and learn about Heartland and its inhabitants in order to return home. The other characters involved all have an affinity to death and mayhem, and there may be other sinister forces controlling this world. Wonderland has just become crazier and more dangerous.
The summaries given in mangaupdates are more praiseful of Alice than the opinion I would give. The direction of the plot is intriguing and the art is good. If you're one who just wants to look at a lot of guys, there's that, too. Dark Tower Scans (scanlation group) has given me permission to rehost their files. I suggest that you also visit Osuwari's website to download their version of chapter 1 because they had better scans for that part. Sadly, Osuwari has dropped this series. And don't worry; both groups happened to coincidentally release this series at the same time (literally), so there's no "claiming" controversy involved. If you like this series, you should also drop by Dark Tower's website (check the Scanlators Directory). They're a small 2 person partnership and would greatly appreciate encouragement.

Hi people!!
Finally I'm 15 yrs old (YUSHHH may get wrinkles all ready lol) I'm so happy!! and right now I'm learning how to drive which so so cool and I love it! GO MANUAL CARS!! I like changing the gear!! enough of car talk here the updates!! and thanks Robin and Fuzz for replying on my birthday that made me super happy!! I also slept over my friends house for my special day!! and I got Twilight the DVD from my sister the special edition with 2 disc!!= P Best birthday ever in my life!! (too much info?!... lol) so here you go~

- Half Prince - [The Little Corner & Is-Wak] - Sadly, TheLittleCorner has announced that they are dropping this manhua at volume 5. I rather doubt that there will be high or high-medium quality scanlations of the remaining volumes, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. My theory is that the higher quality scanlators tend to avoid picking up popular series because experience shows that a lot of other scanlators want to pounce on the project (and so then I'm stuck reading "English" that wouldn't pass elementary level). FYI, vol 5 is the latest volume published, i.e. vol 6 does not exist yet.

I'll spare you the details of the antagonism that I feel. The diluted version is that I'm in the middle of my exams at the moment. It's week #4 of exams, I'm recovering from the cold, and I can't get into a class I need next year because it's full.

" That's rather depressing since this is a licensed series anyway and I don't even read it. I'm just uploading to fill in for Kawaiisue. Happy St. Patrick's Day
There have been some recent releases of series hosted on this website, but you won't see them until the waiting periods pass and some staff member decides to re-upload them.

- This is the first volume file I've uploaded to last week's new file hoster. Try downloading it and comment about its activity. Does it take too long to download? If it's too slow, I'll upload the other volumes somewhere else.

Another Week Weekend Update
Once again, I don't have any interesting news and there were only a few series for me to update (new releases!). Instead, I'm bringing one new series and also a new file hoster I'd like to try out (continue reading for more information).
- I recommend that you try this one out if you haven't yet (obviously, I am rehosting it because I like it). It's a completed 2 volume series. HoF has almost finished with volume 1, but last I heard, they're still looking for volume 2.
New File Hoster
I have an account with a new file hoster, so I'd like to hear any comments on what the downloads are like. If no one says anything, I'll continue using the hoster. The downloads should be okay since I "research" and test things out before I sign up, upload, and re-distribute

Almost Doesn't Count...
Well, I'm almost finished all of my midterms, but there's still one more nerve-wracking, sleepless week to go. And there won't be relief until it's all over.

On the topic of comments, I just manually deleted 34 Spam comments (1 yesterday and the rest today). I've taken down Loving_Day's Jan 17 update post. The bot was targetting that post and now it has stopped.
- VK (Vampire Knights) the scanlation group decided to change their name to X-VK because "Vampire Knight" the series is no longer their main project. (Jan 16) I forgot this last time around.
- So you may wonder: What's been happening with Shoujo Crusade? They've now bought another domain. If you're looking for releases, their new temporary website is at wordpress. If you're looking for a forum to register in, they also have a new forum. This is a different forum from Loving_Day's link in the previous post. The new address has changed to ".net". Check the Scanlators Directory for the links (see: "Website" and "Main Forum").
- This isn't one of the series on our website at the moment, but "Megane Ouji" scanlated by Nagareboshi has been licensed. Check out their website to read its fate. (Feb 8 )
- The Little Corner has released v2 ch6 of "Half Prince". If you follow this series, it's got to be one of your favourites. Go check it out and say thank-you for all the $$ they dished out to buy the volumes. Heh heh, I already checked out the raws, so I'm a bit spoiled of what will happen for the next little while (I don't know word of Chinese, but I did get some ideas).
- And just in case anyone gets a little anxious about releases of "Hotaru no HIkari", from now on J-Sis plans to do volume releases of the series from now on, so it'll take about a 1 to 2 months or more. (Feb 11). I read this series, too, so I just hope it won't end up dropped (there are a lot of volumes).

Variety Pack
We've had a lot of updates and a bunch of new series every week, so check out the older updates if you haven't been here in a while.

- It's great to see many people responding to many areas of the website in the past two weeks. We were happy to hear from: tero, ayame harushino, clamp, Robin (glad to hear from you again), Camui, and Dinah. Too bad there weren't more for the winter holiday treat.
;) - we edit recent updates often, so read all of the post! To RSS readers: you'll have to refresh your MG feed and personally check posts for edits. I know mine only alerts if there's a new post - not if edits have been made.
- I added information to oneshots about the series or anthology that they came from. This is for those who want to check out more or are curious. There were a lot =_=.
Note: My information is only as accurate as what's given by the scanlators and MU.
- Scanlation
- For those who don't know yet, World of Creation or (WoC)scanlation group closed on Jan 9, 2009. Yes, yes, I know, it's now the end of January that I'm relaying this.
- Shoujo Crusade's website is down, so go to their Lj backup for their news. See Scanlators Directory for address.
- Superior - was picked up by a devoted fan a while ago. There has been a release, so the series is back under Active. I know for sure that ayame harushino noticed it had been moved to Dropped.
- Hadaka no Oujisama - Love kingdom ch5 has been released to those who've been waiting. There is a 2 day waiting period, so we might have the chapter up on Monday.
@Dinah: Lol, and this is the day after you asked about the series, too! I'm only posting this in case you happen to check the updates.
- Those who liked the Oneshot Heaven's Door will be interested to know that there's a sequel story. See Nagareboshi's site for complete details.
